GUWAHATI: The Dibrugarh airport was buzzing today as Munnabhai Sanjay Dutt landed at the Mohanbari airport.
Dutt, who has appeared in films including as Munnabhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Rocky, Saajan, and Sadak, has been named the brand ambassador for Arunachal Pradesh's month-long golden jubilee festivities.
On his journey to Mechukha in Arunachal Pradesh's Shi-Yomi district, he landed in Dibrugarh. For the festivities, he shall undertake a public relations campaign and appear in a sequence of commercial movies to showcase Arunahcal Pradesh as a tourist attraction. Dutt would spend two days at Mechukha.
K.G.F Chapter 2, The Good Maharaja, Shamshera, and Prithviraj are Sanjay Dutt's next films, all of which are set to be released in 2022.
The golden jubilee of Arunachal Pradesh, which marks the 50th anniversary of the state's name, will be commemorated with a month-long series of activities all across state and beyond beginning on January 20, 2022.
To highlight the province's rich heritage and culture, the festival will include cultural and literary activities, as well as native sports activities.
"Through all the festivities, we will try to try and educate the state's previous and future generations," Speaker of the Legislative Assembly PD Sona said, adding that "if anyone has old photos or videos that tell the tale of Arunachal Pradesh, they must provide the others to the celebration committee, such that the working group can collate the pictures and videos."
Sona announced the commemoration dates in his convention hall at the legislative assembly, saying that a special events commission, chaired by himself, had been established and also that the month-long festivities would begin on January 20, 2022, in Lower Subansiri HQ Ziro, as the one in Ziro that Arunachal Pradesh received its name and union territory status in 1972. On February 20, 2022, on the occasion of the Statehood Day, a concluding ceremony will be place in Itanagar.
