19 candidates to contest for Assam Pharmacy Council elections

GUWAHATI: Nineteen candidates will be contesting for the upcoming Assam Pharmacy Council Election 2023. The returning officers of the Assam Pharmacy Council Election declared the names of the candidates.

The election will be conducted online, and it will be on April 27, 28, and 29. The Register-cum-Secretary Assam Pharmacy Council informed that the pharmacists registered under Section 32(2) of the Pharmacy Act 1948, whose registration validity is from 2023 and above, can cast their votes.

According to an Assam Pharmacy Council estimate, the number of eligible voters is nearly 10,000.

According to sources, six members will be elected through the election. The executive body of the Assam Pharmacy Council is composed of 15 members. Six members will be elected, five members will be nominated, and four members will be selected from the ex-officio members. The tenure of the Assam Pharmacy Council is five years.
