GUWAHATI: Following a directive from NDRF DG SN Pradhan, the 1st Battalion of NDRF Guwahati organized Hindi Pakhwara from September 1-15, 2020 at different locations — Battalion HQ Patgaon, company locations Changsari, Mirza & DEIT Mirza, pre-positioned team locations Barpeta, Jorhat, Cachar, Bongaigaon, Assam and Regional Response Centres Agartala (Tripura) & Aizawl (Mizoram), a press release said.
On the eve of Hindi Pakhwada under the supervision and guidance of R S Gill, Commandant, 1st Battalion NDRF organized essay writing, debate, noting-drafting, quiz competition and Hindi knowledge competitions. To encourage use of Hindi in the administrative functioning, a committee was formed. Gill distributed commendation cards and certificates to the participants of various competitions.
Addressing the personnel of 1st Battalion NDRF, Gill said, "Hindi as a language of communication is enlisted in the United Nations Organization. We should put our level best efforts to encourage Hindi not only in official functioning but also in our routine life."
