2 arrested in abduction and extortion case by Satgaon Police

GUWAHATI: Satgaon Police arrested two youths – Raktim Kashyap (24) and Ashif Ali (24) – in connection with the case (119/20 u/s 341/364(A)/387/34 IPC) – relating to abduction and extortion from a businessman, Himangshu Agarwal on Friday evening. The police seized a motorcycle (Bullet), Rs 10,000 and three mobile sets from their passion.

The police said that many others were involved in the incident, and search is on to nab them.

According to the FIR lodged by Himangshu Agarwal in Satgaon Police Station, he was abducted by a group of miscreants from the Patharquary area at Satgaon and was taken to a room at BG Yard, Noonmati where he was demanded to pay Rs 5 lakh. When he said that he had no money and refused to comply with, the miscreants beat him up and one of them fired in the air, the FIR said. The miscreants than demanded Rs 2 lakh, and out of fear Agarwal had to pay Rs 97,000 through Google pay, the FIR added.
