22nd Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra New Year Mahotsav held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A variety of cultural activities, including puppet show and 'Jikir' and 'Jari' recitation, were held on the fourth day of the ongoing '22nd Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra New Year Mahotsav' in the city on Tuesday.

Performers and troupes from places such as Nalbari, Sipajhar, Goalpara, Jorhat etc., gathered at the venue to showcase traditional Assamese art and culture. An exhibition of Pratima Pandey Baruah's photographs was held on the occasion and a programme of Goalpariya folk songs was organised in her honour.
