3 held for stabbing youth by Jalukbari Police

GUWAHATI: Jalukbari Police arrested three youths – Ashim Gogoi of Shuttle Gate, Rabial Ali of Golokganj, staying at Shuttle Gate, and Simron Hazarika of West Gotanagar—in connection with the stabbing death of one youth and the injury of another in the Malogain area on Saturday night.

According to the police, Rabial Ali is the prime accused. After the incident, he fled Maligaon for Gauripur. However, on his way to West Bengal, Golokganj police caught him. He was taken to Guwahati on Sunday.

According to the police, the three youths had a brawl with another group at a Bihu function in Maligaon Railway Stadium. After the Bihu function, the three arrested youths again had a quarrel with the other group outside and stabbed two of the other group members, Simanta Talukdar (18) and Rohit Kumar Gami (22). Rohit succumbed to his injuries at the GMCH.
