GUWAHATI: Three wards of #Guwahati has been declared as containment zone by Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner as over 400 COVID-19 positive cases have been found in these wards.

The wards are- 16, 8, and 28.

Earlier, the Kamrup Metropolitan district administration has identified the eight (8) worst-affected areas as per the government's directive.

Ward No 8 reported 419 Covid positive patients. The areas affected are Bhootnath, Kumarpara, A T Road, Machkhowa, and Athgaon.

In Ward no 16 a total of 506 people has been infected by COVID within a week. Fatasil Ambari, Bhaskarnagar, Barshapara, and Dhirenpara are the areas included in Ward No 16.

Meanwhile, in Ward, No 28 Hatigaon, Barsajai Area, Basistha Grant Area, Maidan Area, Barmataria Area.

In containment zones, grocery, fruit and vegetable shops shall be open from 8 am to 12 noon though there would be no restrictions for medical shops. other food materials such as meat and fish will be sold in mobile vending systems area to area.

All these restrictions to come into force from tomorrow from 2 pm onwards for the next 14 days.
