GUWAHATI: The Publication Board, Assam (PBA) is expecting a good sale in the coming the 33rd Guwahati Book Fair.
The State's oldest book fair will begin from December 30, a year after it was put on hold twice due to the anti-CAA movement COVID-19 pandemic.
"Since the book fair is being organized after two postponements we are expecting a good sale," an organizer said. The laikhuta (main pillar) of the Book Fair, being organized was installed at a function held in the Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) field here on Tuesday.
Installing the laikhuta the Vice Chairman of the PBA Sumanta Chaliha said the 33rd Guwahati Book Fair will be important from many angles. He said a good number of renowned book sellers and publishers have confirmed their participation in the fair.
Eminent litterateur Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi will inaugurate the Guwahati Book Fair at AEI field on December 30.
