A Search Conducted in the Deceased Singer Karabi Das House

GUWAHATI: Karabi Das singer of Barpeta residence, who committed suicide at her alleged boyfriend Rituparna Das’ residence, was searched on Thursday. Her cell phone and diary were seized by Bhangagarh police and as per a police source, the items will be sent to FSL (Forensic Science Labaratory). Das had left behind a suicide note where she mentioned that she was both physically and mentally tortured by Rituparna. Rituparna Das who is originally from Dudnoi is a civil engineer and works in a private multi-national company. He was arrested by Bhangagarh police on Wednesday, presented before the court and taken into judicial custody on Thursday.

The body of a singer Krittika was recovered from the rented house of Rituparna Das in Srimantapur under Bhangagarh police station on Wednesday. Rituparna Das who is originally from Dudnoi messaged family members of Karabi Das who were originally from Barpeta and were residing in a rented place in Jyotinagar, Chandmari. Ritupon Das informed them that Karabi was with him and had locked herself in a room not was not answering. He urged them to come to her rescue. According to police source, the two were in a relationship and Karabi had hanged herself to death.
