GUWAHATI: "At this pandemic, disastrous and economic crisis period, the new examination guidelines that the UGC have released for the students of graduation and post graduation have mentally depressed the students," said the All Assam Law Students' Association (AALSA) in a letter to the State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday.
The AALSA asserted that a large number of students of university and colleges are tensed regarding their academic life. "Along with COVID-19, the people of Assam are facing with the problem of flood as well. On the other hand due to lockdown the people are suffering from economic crisis too. These situations have stressed the students for their future careers," said president of AALSA Kishore Kalita.
It claimed that it is impossible for the students to appear for the examination in offline mode for the ongoing pandemic situation, on the other hand it is also not possible to appear for the examination in online mode due to lack of infrastructure and efficient technology.
Further, Kalita urged the Education Minister to look into the matter and take a rational step for the life and academic career of the students. "We want to say that an examination cannot be more important than a precious life of a student," AALSA stressed in their letter.
