GUWAHATI: Internationally acclaimed athlete from Assam, 'Dhing Express' Hima Das, interacted with children from children's homes and communities on a range of topics related to child rights and child protection as a part of the week-long Child Rights Week celebrations by the Assam Police. While talking about her own journey through life, Hima Das said, "It is important for children to have big dreams and work hard to be able to achieve them. The government and civil society have to be able to collectively provide all forms of support so that children can always remain motivated and encouraged."

The programme was followed by an enriching Q&A session and a lot of singing and dancing with the children. Senior officers from Assam Police, UNICEF, and UTSAH also attended the fun interactive programme. The Child Rights Week celebrations that started on November 14 would continue until World Children's Day on November 20, 2023.

The celebrations are part of the award-winning Sishu Mitra Programme, a collaborative effort of the Assam Police with UNICEF and UTSAH.
