GUWAHATI: Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu has appealed to COVID-19 positive people and their families who have been in home isolation to strictly adhere to the protocol meant for them. Such people will have to abide by the advice of their respective doctors and COVID-19 protocol to stay indoors.

The DC said that in the past few days a number of people in isolation were reported to come out of their houses for buying oximeters and other goods. "Sixty-six COVID-19 positive people were given permission to stay in home isolation, and we've received reports of 18 of them violating protocols. We've already brought them to COVID Care Centres. People in home isolation are being observed by the district administration and the police, besides the Health department," the DC said, and added, "For medical emergency and medicines such people can telephone 104. They'll be contacted by the Health department through Sarathi 104's other numbers – 3061-2564400, 0361-2564300 and 0361-2564200. We appeal to people in home isolation to respond to calls from these three numbers."
