GUWAHATI: Renowned Bollywood actor Adil Hussain and clinical psychologist Priyanka Bhattacharjee addressed an interactive session held at CISF Unit IOC Guwahati on Tuesday. The session was attended by CISF personnel, family members, representatives of IOC and members of local community following all precautionary measures due to COVID-19, stated a release.

The function was organized under the aegis of North East Sector (NES) CISF Guwahati. DIG/NEZ Siddhartha Sankar Sarmah and AIG to IG/NES Harendra Narayan were present at the venue including Deputy Commandant, CISF Unit IOC Guwahati, Deepak Mani Tiwary.

The function began at 9 am by the presentation of Priyanka Bhattacharjee who discussed about the role of positive emotions, meaningful engagement, understanding relationships with friends and family and meaningful accomplishments of cognitive choices of life and impact of all these factors in the life of Force personnel. She discussed the role of extra-curricular activities in strengthening mental resilience to counter depressive surroundings.

Adil Hussain had a free flowing interaction with the audience. He eloquently explained the relationship between mind, body and soul. According to the actor, finding goals in life is an outcome of convergence of spirit of our soul with material goals of our life. The lively interaction became more meaningful as the participants remained glued to the speech of Adil Hussain, who hypnotised the crowd with his eloquent communication and in-depth explanations of philosophy of life based on ancient Indian philosophy. He emphasised the importance of regular breathing exercise in controlling our emotions in stressful times. The purpose of this event was to enlighten the people of the society vis-à-vis community outreach programme of CISF.
