GUWAHATI: In view of the of the Assam Assembly elections 2021, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) will set up IT cells in 85 constituencies of the State, said party president Atul Bora. The leader said that the AGP has drawn its poll strategy and its organizational works through social media. "In all the 85 constituencies where it had support bases in different periods, the grassroots-level workers will be made active through social media," Bora underlined.
In this regard, Bora chaired a meeting at AGP's Ambari office on Wednesday with the party's sister organizations – the Asom Yuba Parishad and the Asom Mahila Parishad. Following the meeting, Bora informed the mediapersons that discussions regarding COVID-19 were held. Laying stress on the importance of following the COVID-19 guidelines, Bora appealed to the party workers who are helping the pandemic-affected people, to provide similar help to the ones who have been affected by the floods. He urged the party workers to take initiative regarding flood relief and rehabilitation of the affected people. He also mentioned about the need of awareness at quarantine centres.
In the meeting, AGP general secretary Dr Kamala Kalita, MP Birendra Prashad Baishya, and MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita were present among others.
