GUWAHATI: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) introduced another language – Karbi – as MIL (Modern Indian Language) in its curriculum as a core subject for higher secondary students from the academic session 2022-23.

The name of the textbook for the HS First Year is 'Lammet Amanim'. The Council has uploaded HS first-year syllabus for Karbi MIL on its website.

The AHSEC already has Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Garo, Hmar, Hindi, Khasi, Manipuri, Mizo, Nepali and Urdu as MIL.
