Alcheringa 2019 aims at Ethereal Conquest

GUWAHATI: Alcheringa 2019, presented by Freecharge in association with Skechers, Manikchand, GPlus, delivered by Swiggy, educated by Bhadra IAS Academy is by far the largest cultural festival of North-East India and since its inception has entered its 23rd edition.

The theme for this edition of Alcheringa is ‘The Ethereal Conquest’. The theme aims to represent the triumph of dreams over the fear of failure and to bringing out the Hero within, looking forward to the majestic version of ourselves that we always dreamed about. The hashtag for the theme, #BeTheHeroOfYourQuest, gives a chance to people to win the constant battle within, a battle to conquest over as clinging onto it are the dreams that we always promised to ourselves.

In continuance of the efforts to promote the ethnic culture and traditions of the North East India, Alcheringa, in this edition, is hosting “North East Expo” to showcase the rich cultures of the eight states of the North-East through performances of traditional dance, music and art forms, and specifically giving a platform to promote the local talent.

A press release stated that this year Alcheringa will be hosting 4 different professional nights of 4 completely different genres. Indian classical music maestro and Padma Shri 2002, Padma Bhushan 2017 and Grammy for Best World Music Album 1994 awardee Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, known for his Mohan Veena, in fusion session with UstadAkram Khan on tabla, Saptak Sharma on drums, Ajay Prasanna on flute and Dr S Karthick on ghatam will be performing on the inauguration night,“Saaz- The Classical Night” presented by Nitco Tiles on the January 31, 2019.“Juggernaut: The Metal Night” will be headlined by the Canadian Metal band and winner of Metal Album of the Year 2012 at Edmonton Music Awards, “The Order of Chaos” on February 1, 2019. Maruti Suzuki - Colours of Youth presents Crescendo will be headlined by the dynamic Bollywood duo Sachin-Jigar featuring Ash King on 2ndFebruary 2019.The grand festival will be star-studded with pre-headlining performance from Mexico’s supremely talented DJ and producer, having performed at all the American hotspots including EDC in Las Vegas and Ultra Miami Festival and DJ Mag Rank 68 – Mariana BO, while the headlining performance of Spanish House and Electro House DJ and producer and DJ Mag Rank 38 – Danny Avila will close the curtains of Alcheringa 2019 at “Blitzkrieg: The Surprise Night” presented by MiXiomion February 3, 2019.
