All Assam 108 Mrityunjoy Employees' Association Highlight their Plight before CM Sarma

GUWAHATI: The All Assam 108 Mrityunjoy Employees' Association has submitted a letter to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urging his intervention to solve a slew of issues of the employees.

In the letter, the Association underlined that the 108 service has around 3000 personnel under its banner. It comprises EMT, ERO and Pilots who have been at the forefront 24×7 in the health care service of the Assam government.

"Unfortunately, being employed in the private sector we are entitled to minimum wages fixed by the Ministry of Labour. Though we are skilled workers, with a low salary structure we are not eligible to get loans from the bank. We are excluded from many beneficiary schemes as we are considered as employed," the letter stated. The Association requested the CM to extend a helping hand to injured/incapacitated persons who met with accidents, an upward revision of emoluments services, and a positive view on providing job security.
