All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Union (AASSKU) Demands Reappointment

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Union (AASSKU) has demanded that the Siksha Karmis should be reappointed without appearing in the special TET (Teacher Eligibility Test).

It is to be noted that the Sanyogi teachers have been protesting for a long time demanding reappointment. After several discussions, the Sarbananda Sonowal-led government had announced that the special TET will be conducted on February 28. However, due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, the examination was cancelled.

A statement by AASSKU president Abul Kalam read, "As the HSLC (High School Leaving Certification) and HS (Higher Secondary) examinations were cancelled due to the COVID situation, similarly, the candidates who have received the admit card for the special TET should be declared passed and appointed in teacher posts." Kalam underlined that the Chief Minister had stated that the government will appoint one lakh persons before March 31, 2022. Now, the AASSKU has urged the government to include the Siksha Karmis under the government's initiative.
