GUWAHATI: The AASU (All Assam Students Union) organized a programme to felicitate all the rank holders of HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) examinations and Higher Secondary examinations 2023 in all three streams (Arts, Science, and Commerce) along with their school heads at Pragjyotish ITA Centre, Machkhowa, here on Saturday. At this event, the UPSC candidates from Assam who have passed with flying colours were also felicitated.
A total of 106 students from both HSLC and HS were felicitated. Four successful candidates of UPSC were felicitated. 80 school heads were also felicitated.
All-India rank 5 holder Dr. Mayur Hazarika, on being felicitated, said that this platform is very special for him as this is his third time getting felicitated.
Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Prof. Jiten Hazarika, and Vice Chancellor of Assam Agriculture University, Dr. Bidyut Chandan Deka, were present at the event.
At the event, Samujjal Bhattacharya, chief advisor of AASU, expressed mixed reactions regarding the National Education Policy (NEP). He said, “NEP should introduce topics or issues that are beneficial for the students of the state. If this is kept in mind, then the students will flourish.”
