GUWAHATI: The country is completely occupied with the oncoming Lok Sabha elections and awareness is being raised to be a responsible citizen and exercise franchise. Taking this idea into stride, the All India Petroleum Dealers Association has arrived at a decision to discount fuel prices for anyone who has voted on the day of polls in that region.
The All India Petroleum Dealers Association announced that between 8 am to 8 pm of the poll day, any rider who is able to show the voting mark on their finger will get a discount on their fuel charge. President of the Association Ajay Bansal said, “The staff of petrol depots will promote voting using pamphlets and other campaign materials.”
Speaking to The Sentinel, working staff of some petrol depots said that the initiative is great effort taken by the Association and they would be more than happy to oblige and serve the people if the owners instruct them to do so.
