GUWAHATI: The All Tea Tribe Students' Association (ATTSA) has alleged that the State government has not been hiking the wages of tea tribes despite holding meetings with the Minimum Wage Advisory Board meeting a number of times since 2017.

In a statement issued to the media here on Sunday, ATTSA president Dhiraj Gowala demanded the State government to raise the daily wage of tea labourers up to Rs 351, besides making Sunday a paid holiday. He also demanded wage parity of tea workers in the Barak and the Brahmaputra valleys.
