GUWAHATI: The Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit has come out against the social hazard by taking a unique anti-drug campaign across the state. As many surveys and reports by Government and non-Government organizations have revealed Guwahati as one of the major hub of drugs intake, the club with the motto of #DrugFree Youth, is going to launch Mukti-Up for Hope, Down for Dope campaign. Shivam Saraf, joint secretary & chairman of Mukti, said, “The campaign, which will be started in the loving memory of Late Justice B.P. Saraf, will be launched by Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi on August 28 at Don Bosco School. In the next 12 months the club will be focusing on 6 educational institutions and will cover 10,000 youth.” Rtr. Tushar Jalan, the Founding President of Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit, said, “The campaign would be unique one because the campaign will try to reach only the school and college going students, so that as a youth organization we can contribute a little towards a sound society. Our campaign will take some different ways that include awareness programme through the medium of music, drama, dance and interactive seminars instead of trending boring lectures and scary campaign.”
