GUWAHATI: The farmers from all across the country are protesting against the three new farmer Acts enacted by the Centre. However, the government is adamant on continuing the new Acts despite the intense protests in the national capital led by various farmer organizations.

Showing support to the farmers, the APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) on Sunday announced that it will support the Bharat Bandh called by the farmer bodies on December 8. In a statement, APCC spokesperson Rituparna Konwar said, "By burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, every APCC mandal committee will protest along with farmers at different agricultural fields across the State. In this regard, APCC president Ripun Bora has already appealed to all the mandal committees to demonstrate on December 8 in support to the cause."
