APCC blocks to send anti-Citizenship Amendment Act MoU to President of India

GUWAHATI: APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) had instructed all of its block presidents to send a memorandum to the President of India opposing the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act). As per the committee, the MoU should have signatures of people of respected APCC blocks, who oppose the Act. In this regard, out of the total 16 blocks in Guwahati; Zoo road APCC block which falls under ward number 42 ran an awareness campaign, and took signature from people who don’t want this Act.

President of the block Maina Jan Begum was also present during the campaign. The MoU stated that along with Congress people of Assam are against the CAA and it is not suitable for Assam. “This demand is not of Congress but of every citizen of Assam and the northeast”, the MoU stated.
