GUWAHATI: The inquiry commission has issued fresh notices to more Assam Civil Service (ACS) and Assam Police Service (APS) officers to take their statements for their alleged involvement in the cash-for-job scam in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

As per the directive of the Gauhati High Court, the Assam Government had formed a judicial commission to inquire into anomalies and malpractices in the conduct of Combined Competitive Examinations, 2013 by the APSC, the results of which were declared on May 12, 2015. The case was registered at Dibrugarh police station (936/2016).

The commission has now issued notice to Aisharya Jibon Baruah, APS, who is serving as DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in Dibrugarh. The commission has reportedly found anomalies in his answer sheet. Others against who notices have been issued are 9 APBn DSP Shahjahan Sarkar, Dima Hasao SDO Jagadish Brahma and Nandita Hazarika, ACS.

They have been asked to reply to the notice by November 10, 2021.
