GUWAHATI: The AJYCP (Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva-Chatra Parishad) started its statewide 36-hour fast demanding cancelation of the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) at Ulubari here from Monday.
Speaking at the site, AJYCP president Rana Pratap Baruah said, “Divided we agitate, the government will take advantage out of it. Our fight will be two-pronged now – legal battle and democratic agitation. We need to make the agitation village-bound. From December 18, we’re going to hold meetings in villages against the CAA. The government has hatched a conspiracy to put an end to our agitation. Assam has the relevance of Inner Line Permit (ILP).”
