GUWAHATI: Around 36,000 primary schools were affected after the Asom Rajyik Prathamik Shikshak Sanmilani (ARPSS) resorted to noncooperation on Thursday.
"The noncooperation will stay in effect till the completion of the February Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly on February 13," stated ARPSS secretary general Ratul Chandra Goswami.
The ARPSS reiterated their demand from the government to create posts for headmasters in lower primary schools.
It also urged the Government to roll back the decision to withdraw graduate teachers' grade pay of Rs. 8,700.
Goswami underlined that if the government doesn't meet their demands then it will gherao all district education offices in the State on February 20.
