GUWAHATI: The Asom Satra Mahasabha (ASM) has contributed Rs 1.21 lakh towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the fight against coronavirus.

The decision was taken by the ASM president, the working president, the general secretary and other office-bearers after discussion.

Talking to The Sentinel, ASM general secretary Kusum Kumar Mahanta said, “We’re grateful to the doctors, nurses and other medicos for their sacrifices and relentless services. Let the Almighty give them more strength. We appeal to the people of the State to follow the lockdown rules to the spirit.”

The ASM has also appealed to all xatras and naamghars of the State to continue regular Bhagwat Path (reading of Bhagwat) for the welfare of the mankind. “It, however, has to be done by a single person,” he said.
