Assam Accord is a curse for State: Hindu Yuba-Chatra Parishad

GUWAHATI: The Hindu Yuba-Chatra Parishad (HYCP), Assam has termed the Assam Accord a curse for the people of the State.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, HYCP president Balen Baishya said, "Corrupt politicians were born in the State through the Assam Accord. The Accord is a curse for the State."

"The politics which is going on the Assam Accord should be stopped," Baishya said, and added, "The Assam Accord was signed to deport illegal foreigners from the State, but now they remain as a burden for Assam. AASU adviser Samujjal Bhattacharjya lays stress on implementation of the Accord in every public speech, but even now the technical problems of the Accord have not been solved."
