Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary Attends Meeting of Presiding Officers

GUWAHATI: Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary took part in a virtual meeting of the Presiding Officers of Legislative Bodies in India on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

During the meeting, Birla praised the role played by Daimary during the latter's tenure as a Rajya Sabha Mp.

In his address, Daimary highlighted the problems faced by the presiding officers in the Parliamentary system. He stressed that separate time should be allotted in the Parliamentary system for the small political parties and independent candidates to play an active role and raise their issues.
