GUWAHATI: As the entire world is fighting to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, the Assam Chamber of Commerce has called for a 'Vyapar Bandh' on Monday.
Chairman of the Assam Chamber of Commerce, Rupam Goswami appealed to all businessmen to close their business from 6 am to 10 9 pm. The Assam Chamber said it might be a loss to business but is a necessary step to tackle the outbreak of the dreaded virus.
"The loss that will happen to us is smaller than the cause that we are contributing to. We appeal to all organizations to come forward to help the government" he added.
Meanwhile, the GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) Commissioner also requested all the citizens to observe the 'Janata Bandh' on Sunday from 7 am to 9 pm.
