Assam College Teachers’ Association stages sit-in against CAA at Chachal, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) staged a sit-in demonstration at Chachal here on Saturday demanding security to the rights of the indigenous people of Assam, cancellation of the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), the deportation of illegal infiltrators from the State and the preparation of a foreigner-free NRC in the State.

In a statement issued to the media on Saturday, ACTA general secretary Himangshu Moral said, “We believe that solutions to the problems of Assam will be paved only through destined, planned, emotion-free and pragmatic reasons based on facts.”
