GUWAHATI: The state education department has decided to be stern with the school teachers regarding their non-compliance in updating their profiles or entering students' attendance in the Siksha Setu portal through the tablets provided to schools for the purpose, giving a deadline for completion of the same, with the added threat of withholding salary slips if not done in time.

With the stated objective of ensuring smooth implementation of Siksha Setu in the state's districts, the head of the institution of all schools from Lower Primary (LP) to Higher Secondary (HS) level have been instructed by the Inspector of schools in every district to complete updating of the teacher profile in the Siksha Setu portal.

Each teacher of the schools has to properly register himself/herself under Siksha Setu Portal and enter his/her required information in the portal within one day of receipt of the order. It was also mentioned that the Salary Slip option will be activated very soon in the Siksha Setu Portal, so if any wrong information regarding teacher details is entered in the portal, it will automatically be reflected in the future departmental course of action and that the teacher concerned will be held responsible for any error.

The order asked all teachers of the respective schools to enroll themselves with a photo in the Siksha Setu Mobile Application and give their two times attendance ie. in-time and out-time attendance.

Moreover, to make their job easier, the teachers are allowed to install the Siksha Setu Mobile Application in their mobile phone too, to give their daily attendance in accurate time.

The order also asked all heads of the institutions to complete the subject mapping of post for every individual teacher of the school in Siksha Setu Portal within 20 September, 2023 without fail.

It was also instructed that each class teacher should be assigned against each class/section and they would be responsible for capturing the daily students' attendance in the Siksha Setu mobile application at the beginning of the classes. The heads of institutions were also instructed to submit the list of assigned class- wise/section- wise teachers, along with their contact number within 20 September, 2023 in excel format in both hard and soft copy.
