GUWAHATI: The Maharashtra government has made medical arrangements for Assam girl Daijee Saikia who claimed that she is COVID-19 positive and has not received proper medical treatment at a quarantine center in Mumbai.

Responding to the appeal made by the girl in Facebook live on Sunday, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma talked to Maharashtra Minister Aditya Thackeray. Thanking the Assam government, Saikia said that she has been shifted to another quarantine center in Matunga and is receiving treatment.

Daijee Saikia who originally belongs to Chandmari, Guwahati is a nurse by profession and was working at the P.D. Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. Finding herself in a helpless situation in a quarantine center she urged Assam government for help through Facebook live.

Responding to her appeal Minister Sarma talked with the Maharashtra government. Sarma said, "I talked with Minister Aditya Thackeray regarding the matter of Daijee Saikia. Aditya Thackeray also talked with the girl and she is in hospital now. She has informed our officials that she has received treatment and medicines.
