GUWAHATI: The State Government will provide
one-time grant from the Department of Information & Public Relations to 20
journalists for the year 2020-2021. The government will provide this one-time
grant to the journalists who have been working in this field for more than 15
years to support them in their pursuit for attaining professional excellence.
The one-time grant amount is Rs. 50,000 each. This year the journalists selected for the one-time grant are – Ananta Narayan Borthakur (Dainik
Janambhumi), Anup Biswas (The Assam Tribune), Arup Ranjan Barman (Niyamiya
Barta), Augastine Teron (The Hills Times), Bapon Chandra Sharma (Niyamiya
Barta), Bidyut Kalita (Asomiya Pratidin), Bipul Barman (News18
Assam NE), Bipul Saikia (Dainik Asam), Champak Baishya (Amar Asom),
Dalim Phukan (The Assam Tribune), Debajit Hazarika (Asomiya Pratidin),
Dibakar Saikia (Dainik Janambhumi), Dipak Kumar Sharma (Asomiya
Pratidin), Jayanta Kumar Das (DY365), Jiten Borkakoty (Asomiya Khabar),
Nayan Pratim Kumar (Pratidin Time), Pulen Kumar Das (Asomiya Pratidin),
Sailen Kumar Saikia (Amar Asom), Sanjay Chakrabarty (ND TV) and Utpal
Deka (Dainik Asam), a press release said.
