GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi attended 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School, at Sarabhati in the city on Tuesday. Attending the Gurudwara he greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti and also prayed for the welfare of all sections of the people of the State.

He condemned slavery and racial discrimination and said that all are equal.”

As per a press release, the Governor hailed the efforts of the Prime minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the Kartarpur corridor at Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdsapur which has led the pilgrims to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan. He also said that several programmes have been taken up by the central government nationally and globally to highlight the contributions and the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
