Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi congratulates NSS National Awardee

GUWAHATI: The Governor of Assam, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi congratulated Dr Ranjan Kr. Kakati, Director, Students' Welfare and Programme Coordinator, NSS, Gauhati University, on Tuesday at Raj Bhavan for receiving the NSS National Award 2019-20 from the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind recently in New Delhi.

Gauhati University and Dr R.K. Kakati is the first recipient of NSS National Award for the first time in the history of NSS in Assam and the Northeast. The Governor urged all the NSS Programme officers and volunteers to work harder so that more glory could be brought to the State. Prof. Mukhi discussed many specific areas of education system in Assam and NSS activities that can be taken up for better community and social service. Congratulating to NSS family, Prof. Mukhi advised to take up some practical-oriented matters in the society to uplift the community and environment, stated a press release.
