Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi extends Mahavir Jayanti wishes

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi extended his warm greetings to the people of Assam and particularly the Jain brethren on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

In a message, Prof. Mukhi urged upon all to follow the teachings of Mahavir who was a proponent of non-violence and preached love and respect to all kinds of living beings. He also said, “On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I wish all with lots of happiness, good health and success and hope everyone walks on the path of truth and peace, true to the teachings of Bhavan Mahavir.’

Governor also appealed all to celebrate the occasion by staying in their homes. He urged upon all not to make any religious gatherings in the temples in view of the COVID 19 outbreak.
