GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated a multimedia exhibition on 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav -Unsung Heroes of the North-East' at the Assam Engineering Institute playground in Chandmari on Wednesday.

Speaking at the inaugural function which was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Governor said that the multimedia exhibition on 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav - Unsung Heroes of the North-East' is a great initiative for the public, especially the younger generation to learn about the valour and sacrifices of the freedom fighters of the North-East. He also said that on the occasion of 75th year of India's Independence, which is being celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, it is really an honour to remember the bravehearts of the freedom struggle from the North-East with great admiration and respect.

Mukhi said, "While it is an important achievement to have celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, it is equally important to pursue our Amrit Kaal that is the coming 25 years of our nation even more dedicatedly. The time of our Amrit Kaal is not for dreaming while sleeping, but for fulfilling our resolutions while awake".

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who always stresses that the coming 25 years are the period of utmost hard work, sacrifice and dedication, Mukhi urged people at large to devote themselves to the mission of regaining the lost glory of the country.
