Guwahati: Ambassador of Israel to India, Dr Ron Malka, said on Monday that Assam has a huge potential and Israel would explore more areas to collaborate with the state.

The Ambassador said this while speaking the media at the end of his day-long visit to Guwahati.

The enthusiasm of the people of the state will help the country to advance and prosper, Malka said.

"Assam will see the presence of more Israeli tourists in the coming days," Malka said talking about India being the most beloved country for Israeli tourists. However, not many of the Israeli tourists have visited this beautiful part of the country. "There are so many beautiful sights to see, and a beautiful culture to experience in this part of India," added Malka emphasising on bringing in more Israeli tourists to the state.

Malka said that the starting of this new Centre of Excellence for Vegetables Protected Cultivation in Assam is the beginning of expanding the presence of Israel in Northeast India.

Earlier today, Ron Malka met the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, where he has agreed on Israel extending its cooperation and expertise for the farm sector in Assam.

"We share the same values of friendship, solidarity and cooperation," said Malka emphasising on India-Israel relations, which will expand more in the years to come.

"There are so many challenges that we share and are similar to each other's. We need to understand these challenges, work on it together, and share solutions if we know any," added Malka focussing on how both the countries can help each other in the long run.
