LOCKDOWN Phase IV

GUWAHATI: With the phase IV of the ongoing lockdown becomes imminent, Food & Civil Supplies minister Phani Bhusan Choudhury on Friday asserted that the State has adequate stock of essential items both in wholesale and retail markets. He appealed to the people not go for panic buying.

The stock position of essential items in wholesale markets as on May 14 is 4,10,494 quintals of rice, 1,75587 quintals of dal,1,70, 500 quintals of sugar, 1,11530 quintals of potatoes, 49,581 quintals of onion, 5,29,047 tins of mustard oil and 16,85,591 tins of refined oils.

Choudhury also said incoming flow of both trucks and trains carrying essential goods to Assam has improved in comparison those coming during the phase I and first part of phase II lockdown.

The minister on Friday also visited the office of directorate of Food & Civil Supplies here and took note of status of stock of essential items.
