GUWAHATI: The AMSA (Assam Medical Service Association) has declared a series of agitational programmes over its charter of demands.

Announcing this in a press meet here on Saturday, AMSA general secretary Dr Kanak Chandra Talukdar added, "The medical service personnel across the State will boycott OPD (Out Patient Department) duties for three hours from 8 to 11 am on October 19.

"Moreover, there will be total boycott of the OPD services on October 22. There will be total boycott of the OPD services for three days starting from October 26. The AMSA has also decided to go for total boycott of OPD services of three continuous days from November 1."

Dr Talukdar added, "If the government still fails to resolve our issues, the AMSA will decide its next course of action in its next general body meeting."

Earlier on October 6, the AMSA had submitted a memorandum to Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on its charter of demands including timely promotion, new recruitment of personnel, cadre revision, time-scale promotion, resolving pay disparity, increase of in-service PG seats, enabling of payment for the personnel on duty in the evening OPD, rent-free quarters, ensuring security of doctors and Healthcare personnel among others.
