Assam: Memorial talk on 3rd annual Dr. Bharat Ch. Kalita and Leela Kalita delivered

GUWAHATI: The third annual Dr. Bharat Ch. Kalita and Leela Kalita Memorial was held on Thursday at the Sanghasadhak Madhukar Limaye auditorium of Alok Bhawan in Guwahati on ‘Ras Bihari Bose and the INA’ under the auspices of the Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam.

The lecture was delivered by noted businessman and researcher Netaji Subhash Bose and INA Dilip Kumar Goswami from Azara. Retired Colonel Ranjit Talukdar remembered his days as a student of the late Dr. Kalita at the National Defence Academy. He proudly told the audience how Dr. Kalita’s students have achieved accolades not only nationally but all over the world as highly competent military officers. Some of them have already retired as higher-ranking officers of the Indian army and the government of India. They all fondly remember Dr. B. C. Kalita as an inspiring teacher.

The memorial lecture was concluded with the votes of thanks by Manab Deka, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Pragjyotish College, and it was moderated by Nipon Saikia, State Prasar Pramukh, Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam, which was attended by more than 100 eminent personalities from different parts of Assam, stated a press release.
