GUWAHATI: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has extended its support to the nationwide strike on Thursday called by various central trade unions.
The strike is in protest against the Centre's policies, such as privatization of public sector units and new labour and farm laws.
APCC spokesperson Dilip Kumar Sarma said the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi implemented 44 Acts to make the labourers free from exploitation. However, PM Narendra Modi is taking the rights away from these people and is making it easy for the capitalists to exploit them.
