GUWAHATI: With less than a year for the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections, the State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Tuesday announced its new executive committee.
State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass stated that the party has given special preference to women leaders in the new executive committee.
Hemaprava Borthakur, Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Rekharani Das Boro, Swapnil Barua, Ratan Teron, Pulak Gohain, Jayanta Das and Jayanta Malla Baruah were appointed as the party's vice-presidents in the State.
While Dr Rajdip Roy, Tapan Kumar Gogoi, Pallab Lochan Das, Phanindra Nath Sarma were appointed as general secretaries, Rajkumar Sarma and Manoj Sharaf will take the role of treasurer and assistant treasurer respectively.
Dipluranjan Sarma, Kishor Upadhyay, Krishnamoni Chutia, Lucy Roy, Sukumar Biswas, Akani Devi, Benudhar Nath, Tarang Gogoi and Parami Das were elected as secretaries of the committee.
Among other members, Rupam Goswami has been appointed as the spokesperson, Arup Barman as the Yuba Morcha president, Aparajita Bhuyan as the Mahila Morcha president and Haren Deuri as the ST Morcha president. It is to be mentioned that the general secretaries of the committee will not be eligible to contest in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
