Assam State Disaster Management Authority Formed Task Forces To Observe Diwali Regulations

GUWAHATI: The District Administration and the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) have jointly formed five task forces to patrol in five zones in the city during the Diwali festivities. Each task force will comprise of five members which will include a magistrate, police and GMC personnel.

This year, permission to sell crackers are allowed in only 21 areas of the city which includes Old Jail Campus, Fancy Bazar, under Guwahati Revenue Circle, Pandu College Field, Pandu, under Guwahati Revenue Circle, Dispur College Field, under Dispur Revenue Circle, space below Ganeshguri flyover, under Dispur Revenue Circle, space below Bhangagarh flyover, under Dispur Revenue Circle, space below Sixmile flyover, under Dispur Revenue Circle, Beltola Bazar, Bihutali under Dispur Revenue Circle, Geetanagar Field, under Dispur Revenue Circle, Borbari ME school field, under Dispur Revenue Circle, Udayan Kishti Sangha field, under Dispur Revenue Circle, Lal Ganesh temple field, under Guwahati Revenue Circle, Rajdhar Borah higher secondary field, Azazra under Azara Revenue Circle, Bonda Bihu field, under Chandrapur Revenue Circle, Chandrapur higher secondary school field, under Chandrapur Revenue Circle, Sonapur Mini Stadium, under Sonapur Revenue Circle, Khetri Gaon Panchayat field, under Sonapur Revenue Circle, Ulubari Girls’ higher secondary school field, under Guwahati Revenue Circle, Sonaram higher secondary school field, under Guwahati Revenue Circle, Pachim Bora Gaon Prathmik Vidlaya field near Gorchuck, under Guwahati Revenue Circle, Pub Guwahati high school field, Chandmari, under Guwahati Revenue Circle, and Kachamari Ghat, River Side, under Guwahati Revenue Circle. The District Commissioner (DC) Kamrup (M), Biswajeet Pegu informed that the five task force teams will ensure that crackers are not sold outside of the above mentioned locations. Also, they will patrol the streets during the festivities and monitor that no loud crackers are burst near hospitals and that people maintain the crackers ban after 10 pm. If any person is found disregarding the rules, proper action will be taken against them.
