GUWAHATI: In anticipation of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratistha celebration in Ayodhya, the Sodou Asom Sanmilita Sikshak Mancha has asked the Education Department for transparent communication regarding the scheduled half-holiday. The Mancha, however, underscores a significant concern with the current notification, which designates the half-holiday only until 2:30 PM.

Highlighting the need for a more inclusive approach, the Mancha points out that primary schools typically conclude their sessions by 2:30 PM, aligning with the current notification. However, in secondary-level schools, the academic day often extends until 3 or 3:30 PM. In the interest of adhering to educational guidelines and minimizing the chances of students attending school during the celebration, the Sodou Asom Sanmilita Sikshak Mancha proposes that a full-day holiday would be a more practical and feasible solution.

Ranjit Borthakur, President of SASSM, expressed concerns about the confusion among teachers who might be uncertain about their presence after 2:30 PM. The Mancha believes that a full-day holiday would not only ensure clarity but also contribute to a smoother celebration of the auspicious event. As the anticipation for the grand celebration builds, Mancha’s proposal aims to address potential challenges in school attendance during the scheduled half-holiday.
