Basistha Police arrested fraudster for duping people on the pretext of job

GUWAHATI: The Basistha Police has arrested a fraudster named Kaushik Bhaskar Gautam from Jajori in Nagaon district for duping people on the pretext of giving jobs.

According to police, a case (1729/19 us 120(B)/419/468/471/420 IPC) was registered at the Basistha Police Station about the circulation of appointment letters with fake signatures of the Home Guard Commandant. According to the police, another accused named Diganta Dihingia is involved in the case. Both the accused are relatives. Dihingia used to bring unemployed youths from Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, and Lakhimpur to Guwahati and introduced them to Gautam, said the police. The further investigation is on and Dihingia is absconding.
