Beltola College observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Beltola College observed ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – on October 31, 2019. In connection to this, the NSS unit of Beltola College under the leadership of programme officer Kamaruj Jaman, an assistant professor in the Department of English, organized a programme under the chairmanship of Eli Kumari Das, a senior assistant professor of the college. A lecture on ‘the Thought of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ was delivered by Himadree Kumar Sharma, assistant professor of the Department of History emphasizing the life, though work and contribution of the Sardar Patel. Bitu Narzari, GS of Beltola College Students’ Union and Abinash Garo, a student, made significant speech on the work and sacrifice of the Iron Man of India. All the teaching and non-teaching staff and students, especially NSS volunteers, formed a human chain symbolizing national unity irrespective of caste, colour and creed, a press release said.
