GUWAHATI: The All Assam Bengali Youth Students' Federation (AABYSF) on Tuesday expressed its disappointment against the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) for not giving party tickets to Bengali Hindu candidates in the Brahmaputra Valley.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, AABYSF president Ajay Bhushan Sarkar said that the Federation had asked the BJP to provide party tickets to Bengali Hindu candidates in 15 constituencies. However, the BJP didn't provide any ticket to the Bengali Hindu candidates and also deprived them in constituencies like Mariani, and Lumding, he asserted.

"The BJP wants to end the political rights of the Bengali Hindus. In the last Assembly election, 95 per cent Bengali Hindus voted for the BJP hoping that it will solve the problems of the community," Sarkar underlined.

Further, the Federation appealed to State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass to give at least four tickets to Bengali Hindu candidates in the Brahmaputra Valley. "The BJP and the AGP will have to face a tough challenge from the Bengali Hindus if it deprives candidates from our community in the Brahmaputra Valley," Sarkar added.
